I've just been on a voyage of discovery with my 2010 X351 soot chucker and thought it might be worth sharing.

The car turned up with only one key, it's the original key they used that looks like this

I called Jaguar about a replacement and apparently because they are so insecure they will only supply a new security module and two new keys at a cost of £1k. Given it's their crap security engineering that caused the problem that seems a bit cheeky really.

I picked up a 2nd hand key from Fleabay but when I ran the "add new key" routine the versions of SDD I've been using complained "The keyless vehicle module fitted to the vehicle is incorrect, please check part number as it should be either BJ32 or DPLA"

Basically on newer SDD releases (I tried 160 and 138) they won't program new keys to force you to go down the new module route. IN the end I found that SDD130 merrily programmed my 2nd hand key to the car and solved my problem.

I get their point about security, but If anyone is desperate enough to be nicking decade old soot chucking barges then I suppose they can have it hehe

isn't that the earlier/American version? Mine came with the side silver slide piece but i got one of these as they just feel much nicer in the hand then the rectangular side chrome version
