Hey Guys!

New to Jaguar, but an old TVR owner...I've just bought an S-Type 3.0 Auto 2001 and have experienced gearbox fault, along with all the lights flashing up.
We've changed oil and filter in auto gearbox...Still there. Then changed the solenoid/valve block in gearbox for reconditioned one...STILL there!

I've been told that sometimes the ECU connections can produce this, but can't find the position of the ECU. It's a pre-facelift model Right Hand Drive.

Does anyone know the location of the ECU??

Thank you in anticipation

Hi Manic. If you don't get many replies here, try https://www.jaguarforum.com/forums/s-type-x200-x20... where you'll probably find more S-Type owners.

I had a 2001 3.0 auto, Pacific Blue with BBS alloys. A lovely car, but suffered from Random Flat Battery Syndrome which I worked around by always carrying a spare battery... Oh and the windscreen seemed very thin; it got through three of them!

Have you checked the boot for any water ingress ? Water gets into the rear Parking Aid Module corroding the terminals . The ECU is located under the Pollen Filter Housing in the passenger side of the Engine Bay

Ah yes I remember that. The Jag technician said I could drill a hole through the bottom to let the water drain out. I did, it works smile

Jags are notorious for throwing a host of faults/dash lights when the battery is on the way out. Check the charging voltage from the alternator isnt too low or too high (especially too high it sends the computers into fits) and get the battery tested.

Im also an ex TVR owner but have an XJR to compensate for the loss of having to sell it !
