Can anyone recommend a reliable Indy that runs the "SDD" software and is not hideously expensive?

Depending on car and what you are doing, I'd suggest iCarsoft - Jaguar version.

Hi,
It's a 2008 XF 3.0 V6 Petrol. I have issue with parking sensor and battery conditioner.

+1 to iCarsoft, but I would spend the extra to get the universal version.

It irks me that the hardware for all the iCarsoft car-specific devices is identical to the CR Pro unit with just the firmware nobbled so that it will only download the configuration files for the single make you paid for. CR Pro is cheaper than buying two separate units for two cars so if you have a two-make garage it is a no-brainer, plus you don't have the hassle of selling it to buy another different specific unit if you sell that make of car on and change to a different one!

iCarsoft LRII and Pro will both read and diagnose parking sensor and battery conditioner data BTW. I have tried it on my own device and it works.
