Leased an diesel epace for Mrs Johnniem in early 2018. She loves it and although there is the odd scrape (not sure whether to deal with them or not, under wear and tear allowances?!) it has been a very reliable (I know, a reliable JLR car!).

At new, it's value (full price with the options chosen) was around the £32k mark. It has done less than 13,000 miles. Its value now is probably near the £29-30k mark.

I wish I had gone for the purchase option! weeping

Anyone know what their attitude to some minor scratches will be at the end of the (extended) lease in March 2023?

If you are considering buying one, don't bother with the auto parking option. An utter waste of money and a ball ache to use. Used it but once in the 4.5 years of ownership.

If they are minor scratches John , you will probably get away with them being classed as " fair wear and tear " . Dents however can be another matter entirely . Perhaps its worth someone running over the car with a Polisher if you are worried ?

Thanks for the reply reddiesel. Pretty minor but some are through the paint finish. It just irks that, given that they have had more than 2/3rds of the original value of the car out of me during the lease and then sell it for almost the same as the original value. Seems like a good game to be in!
