Late XJ12 Series III: surging starting hot engine

Hello Jag experts,

two questions:

When trying to start a XJ12 with a hot engine, the oil pressure indicator twitches and there is barely any oil pressure, at least not displayed on the gauge. What could be the problem?

On a LHD car, the left exhaust makes a different noise than the right one (when the engine is hot), it is burbling irregularly.
Any idea?

Car is in good shape, had a major service done recently.

Does the oil pressure gauge show good pressure when the car is cold or under load?

Burbling could be a slight misfire on that bank, but it depends what you're hearing. Did it do it before the service? Have you ever had your injectors flow tested/rebuilt?
