Contemplating one of these as my next motor. Anyone own or owned one? It looks great and all the reviews I have seen are very positive but there are very few about? Seems to me that it's a bit of a sleeper and future modern classic and at worst should be a relatively low depreciator. The 4 cylinder car that superceded it might make more sense in many ways but it lacks the drama of the 6 cylinder car.
We have one as the wife’s / family car, the 380 model. Owned for three years, it’s been an excellent car for us.
Quiet and refined (especially on the less massive 19” wheels) when you want it to be, and an absolute weapon in Dynamic Mode. It’s a properly fast saloon, mid 4s for 0-60, and effortless mid range grunt for overtaking and ahem, making progress. Makes a lovely noise too.
Fuel economy is the most surprising aspect, we get around 33mpg day to day, and longer trips (fully laden) around 40mpg.
It’s needed a new wiring loom for the rear camera in the three years since purchase, just out of warranty but not particularly expensive, as Jaguar contributed to the costs. Other than that, nothing.
I’d happily have it as my daily actually, if I could just convince her

The petrol I4 isn’t the best engine about. Very course sounding when pushed not too hard. The V6 is the pick of the accessible engines, but the better interior of the newer models don’t use it. The interiors of the pre-facelift are disappointing in terms of materials. As with the whole Jag range, panel fit can be challenging. I’ve only ever had them as loaners in place of my last Jag - an XFR-S, so you won’t be surprised to hear I was glad to give them back. As with the the X-Type, the market has shown what it thinks of them of late and the current XF, as sales have tanked.
Loved my 2016 ex jag management car, its a proper small jag saloon, quick comfy and well equipped.
Downsides: Jag had to replace the front disks and pads @20k miles, under warranty thankfully. The Infotainment isn't brilliant and Android auto was more than a little buggy - rather like the Ipace that followed it.
Used it for a friend's wedding and the perforated leather seats swallowed loads of the sparkly glitter from the bride & bridesmaids attire - was still finding it 2 years later when hoovering.
Given I swapped out of it at the start of covid, not my best car swap ever - should really have kept it, it was great fun...
