I have just bought a new Jag F-Type and would really like to get my break calipers painted red, from the standard grey colour. I am in Kent and would really appreciate some recommendations for a good garage to get this done please? Thank you

Personally Heather its not a mod for me but if it were I would be considering a few points . The temptation by any Garage would simply to give you what you ask for which is a red calliper , they would perhaps give it a degrease and a cursory rub with abrasive paper to aid paint adherence . They would then give them an undercoat and paint them red . A few months later as we begin to get back into winter you will discover that they begin to look a bit tatty as it becomes apparent that the paint used cant withstand the temperatures an average calliper reaches in operation not to mention the road salt etc etc .
Then there is the job itself , the Callipers will have to be removed which will involve Labour Charges as will their reassembly , the car will be off the road for perhaps the best part of a week whilst the whole job is done . Others better qualified than me may perhaps quote a price , I reckon you could be close to £500 .
I would therefore simply source some Jaguar " Official " Red Callipers from perhaps eBay and get someone to fit them for you . You will save a fair bit of money , you wont be without your F Type for long and you wont be disappointed by the crap job some Garage does . The Jaguar item is by no means a panacea but in my experience they are far better than any aftermarket tart up. I hope this helps and perhaps gives you a few things to think about . Good luck with the new car .

Hi Reddiesel - I appreciate the insight and thank you for taking the time to share your advice. Changing the calipers would however invalidate the warranty (I have already asked Jag this question) so a repaint of the fitted calipers is in fact my only option.
Not worried about it costing £500 if it is a trusted garage with a good recommendation.

I have currently an F Type SVR and before an F Type V8 R . The current SVR came with graphite calipers and the previous R with red ones . Personally I have never heard so much rubbish about invalidating a Warranty , I am assuming your car is a new one ? I can quite confidently predict that if the main Dealership were supplying and fitting the Calipers there would be no issue with the Warranty . In fact I would go further and say that should you make a Warranty claim the average JLR Dealer is so blatantly useless that a red caliper is the last thing they would be interested in or notice . As long as the calliper matches the correct disc and rim size why would a warranty be Invalidated ? Anyone else any thoughts on this ? If we followed this lunacy to its logical conclusion a Warranty would be invalidated by the fitting of a new set of alloy wheels . Good luck with the repaint .

Just Google.
Lots of places offer this service.
Or do it yourself with Red Flat Hammerite.
Try utube for the latter.
Car names or brand stickers (Heatproof) from eBay for less than £10.

Painting them apparently doesnt void the Warranty if this blokes experience is anything to go by , its hard to believe changing them would either .

As long as those are Jaguar OEM Calipers Heather I suspect your Warranty is completely safe

Can't believe someone would suggest replacing calipers rather than re-painting. Paint is paint - nothing special about Jaguar caliper paint in the first place, just need to use good quality paint and preferably have the job done by a specialist.

I re-collect YouTube vlogger doing same to his car a good while back - he went for yellow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLlabV9lSH4&t=...

You need to make up your mind chap . Firstly you say that Paint is Paint then you go on to say a Good Quality paint is required ? Disassembly and Preparation of Components costs Money and Specialists cost Specialist Money too . Then of course we have the reassembly and time lost whilst the Car is off the road . Compare this with the cost of simply replacing the aforementioned Calipers then surely you can see my point . Any halfwit can paint them red but quality and longevity of the job and putting them on a new F Type could be something else entirely .
