New F Type V8 R, Has The Volume Been Turned Down?
Discussion
I have recently been spending some time at Jaguar Dealerships and have come across one or two new unregistered V8 F Types . The Sales Staff have been telling me that the characteristic popping and burbling has been purposefully eradicated from these latest cars something which I had absolutely no knowledge of . What I have noticed is the classic Jaguar cheap tarting up of an ageing Model . The Bonnet Vents and the Front Bumper Vents are similar to something a young lad would attach to the front of his Vauxhall Corsa , completely hideous . I find it incomprehensible that someone would join a waiting list to own such a vehicle . In my humble opinion , you want the first revamp of the original Model , out of the three versions this one looks the best .
I read this elsewhere….
Due to German/European EU directive the noise was turned down late 2017 and add the arrival of Gasoline Particulate Filters late 2018 exhaust noise has been become less on all cars.
I had a brand new loan P300 and unfortunately it was quieter than an electric golf cart..

That “Jaguar Steve” chap seems full of the joys of Spring…… I've been looking at various versions of V8 AWD coupe from 2017-2020 and all three body styles that seem to populate that period seem ok to me. I understand the noise point and the impact GPFs have had on things. It would nice to know the production date when the GPF switchover occurred if anyone has that? Thanks
Not sure whether I would want the 450, 550 or 575 PS versions. Started off looking for a 550PS R but the newer 575PS R is interesting as is the SVR but they are very strong price price. A 450PS might have to do!

2019 was the changeover year though earlier cars assuming they have visited the Dealership network for Servicing could equally be affected . Thanks, read the other thread about software updates now. I guess each car needs assessing on a case by case basis.
Have a good look at the specification of whatever you buy as there are some Poverty ones out there . Life without a decent stereo , heated windscreen , steering wheel and seats can lessen the pleasure especially when you come across them in similar Models . Anything listed as JLR being the first Owner means its likely been subject to a Leasing Agreement . Many are damaged and repaired by the Lessor outside of the Dealer Network owing to the prohibitive financial penalties often involved . Others are repaired and tarted up by Dealerships without making any Insurance Claim so be careful of what you buy . For me its got to be Coupe and V8 R , some will wax lyrical about the V 6 , one Muppet on here tried to tell everyone he bought a V6 because it suited his local roads better I dont criticise those that have them but they aren't in any way comparable to owning or driving a V8 R , its a bit like comparing a Boxster to a GT 3 , laughable . Good luck with whatever you buy and keep us all posted of your experiences .Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
