E-Pace. 250 remap. Testing the waters.
Discussion
I am just toying with the idea of getting a Jaguar e-Pace, petrol, ps250 automatic, awd, about 3/2 years old. It would suit our needs, live rural, less than 10k miles a year now (retired), prefer the higher driving position of SUV/MPV as opposed to lower car.
However I want to retain the 'smile factor' when driving and be sure of a good surge in the 40 - 70 mph range for overtaking.
The basic E-Pace ticks most boxes but I am just wondering about a sensible remap, done by a reputable Jaguar tuner.
In the past the remaps have been good on my cars, improved acceleration and fuel economy (oem ecu set very rich), a win/win situation. So does the 250 engine lend itself to this ? Not after absolute power, just a little more zest !
Has anyone tried this or have experience ?
I know that there is a 300 model but on a heavier platform so extra bhp is rather wasted.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian.

Interesting you use the word toying Brian , I'm thinking at this age of vehicle the car will be on the old Evoque platform . The later ones , changed midway through the Models life and are based on the PTA platform shared with the latest version of the Discovery . I dont know if you are aware of this change ?
My advice is to take a good long run in one and also have a good look at the Opposition because there is better out there .
Plenty of Tuning Companies out there offering what you require , personally I havent any experience to offer and I suspect that what you intend to do probably isnt that common . There is an E Pace dedicated Forum , perhaps you will find more answers to your Post over there , sorry I cant be more helpful .

Cheers Reddiesel,
Yes, the Jaguar is just one of a long list yet to be shortened. Like many of my age the Jag' was the "must have at some point" car, the iconic British sports car so there is some personal sentimentality at play here.
Much test driving yet to be done though, no rush.
Regards
Brian.
