One of the small pivot points for my parcel shelf has broken off which leaves the parcel shelf a little unstable. I tried gluing it without success so I thought a small but and bolt might do the trick, passing through the pivot point itself and into the part this is supposed to be attached to. However I'm not sure how to remove the larger part, can anyone offer any guidance please?

I have the very same problem Dan and I cant for the life of me work out how or when it got broken . I carry next to nothing in the boot yet one day when opening the tailgate it came adrift .

Same problem - tried to fix it more times than I care to admit. Given up. Such a cheap and shoddy design given the list price of the car (a V8 R in my case).

I miss the roller style cover of my Z4M coupe. A simple and robust solution.

I shall have to price the replacement part which to be fair is something I am reluctant to do . I can see little point in replacing like for like as I dont believe the part has been updated in any way ?

This is clearly a very common fault. It was the RH one that broke in my case. I'm just going to leave it until the other one breaks as well, then I'll look for a solution.

I fixed this in the end - used an anchor bolt (the type you might use in plasterboard!) and managed to slot it into the slightly enlarged hole left by the broken piece, fitted what was left of the broken piece on the end and it works a treat, so far anyway.

Probably a fix of higher quality than the original item . I am keeping an eye on my so far undamaged SVR parcel shelf , it has a self closing tailgate which should help things
