Any XFR owners on here?
Discussion
I had an XFR-S previously. Lovely cars though you’re into suspension parts now as the youngest one is approaching 7 years old. They about £1200 to change everything to PowerFlex.
Engine is generally bullet proof, but some (mine) did suffer weird issues with tappet wear. Cost the warranty company a new cylinder head and all the gubbings that go with that. About £10k rebuild. Diff is another weak point. There’s two types of XFR. Those that have had a diff done, and those that will need one.
MPG-wise, they aren’t that bad. I averaged 24 over 10k miles. Can get low 30s On a steady run. Tyres are the key - Michelin PS4S are the only ones to get, for grip and longevity. 22k on the rear Vs 8k on P-Zeros.
Apart from my weird engine issue, it was way better at keeping out the dealers than my Audis or Beemers were. Main dealers are hit and miss, but find a good Indy and it’s win-win.
There are a good % that have been modded with extra HPs. The 550ps of the R-S is fine. It struggled to put the power down in all but dry warm roads so any extra only mean bragging in the pub. Supercharger pulley mods and a map are the choice of power increase. I’ve seen the aftermath of one done badly. These engines aren’t cheap to rebuild or replace.
Any specific questions, then fire away.
ETA - pre-facelift is a 6-sp box as were the first of the facelift. Aim for an 8-sp box for better fuel economy. A pair of rear exhaust boxes will wake up the neighbours

Any XFR owners on here?
Yes, me. 2013, 52,000 miles facelift in black
What are they like to live with?
Better than any other car I've owned, including BMWs and Mercs.
What kind of fuel consumption ?
21mpg average. Who cares? It's about smiles per gallon. I can squeeze 30mpg on a motorway run.
Any issues with build quality?
Nothing at all significant. It's solid with no trim rattles at all.
I could type more of course but I'm using the phone, and I hate typing a lot on phones.

Sorry for the late reply.
Considering one to replace my elderly but good BMW E60 V8.
They appear to be good value for money when you look what even elderly german V8's are advertised at.
My main concern was engine problems - I have also been advised that XF's can start looking a bit crusty underneath.
