I saw these SS Models at a JDC Event at Wappenbury back in the 18th of September Craig and I have some pictures on my Phone somewhere . It was the first time I had paid any attention to the SS Cars and I have to admit somewhat ashamedly that they did little for me . I offer this point of view up purely as a talking point rather than to dissuade anyone from going along and enjoying the Event .
The trouble with the SS cars for me personally is that there is nothing definitively Jaguar about them and I quickly lose interest . I can go right back to my childhood in the Sixties and Seventies and I can remember all the Models from that period and the Characters that drove them in my local area whereas I cant do that with the SS models .
Its a sobering thought to think that Today there is doubtless some car mad young lad who will forever associate Jaguar as being the maker of SUV Shopping Trolleys . Who is the saddest , him or me ?

I don’t disagree RD
We all have our reference points and those whose reference points are the SS cars are getting fewer and fewer. For the reasons you mention the same will happen with the E-type within the next 15 years I think as the kids that lusted after them in 61 shuffle off. That’s just the progression of classic cars I guess and why we see Escort mk2 and some early Japanese stuff now getting silly money. I guess there will be a time when the Tata models are the ones in demand and the in car systems will be the equivalent of retro gaming now.
Next time you’re at a JDC event let me know would be good to put face to a name

The event is filling up fast, come along and join us in whatever Jaguar you have historic, classic or modern and if you have a swallow side car even better. You dont have to be a club member but you do have to buy your ticket in advance as there will be no general admission. You can come along for all or just some of the weekend event. The sunday is filling up very fast.

I don’t yet have a Jaguar but would like to come along to the Sunday event, is this possible? If so do I just fill in the form with the £17.50 museum visit part?
If you don’t have a Jaguar you can’t bring your car onto the main site as that is for jaguars only for display purposes. You can buy a ticket at the 17.50 price using the form, park in one of the outer car parks and enter the event on foot Hi all.Im booked in for the weekend..and why not been holed up since COVID and then bread and eggs have gone up in price to £500 a egg, and petrol is dependent on a remortgage...also got a question about first time ignition set up ok find compression stroke of number 6 set crank at 8 before TDC and check by turning dizzy that the points are just about to open..Is that right... ..by the way Jaguar Breakfast club tell me that hundreds of Jaguar leaving from Brooklands on Saturday for the ( tour) to a special place will on advise from Police not begin from Brooklands itself, but from several sites around the area ( hotels mainly ) as not to congest the road out of Brooklands .....just saying..

Hello, the Saturday daytime event is the event you will find advertised above that will go to the museum collection. Cars will meet at the museum or somewhere en route if they arrange this themselves. We are not able to meet at brooklands and do a convoy from there as it will not be allowed by the police trevalvole said:
Is there also going to be an event in the UK's Modena, Blackpool?
We couldn’t find a suitable venue in Blackpool and the local council wouldn’t allow the use of the seafront. Not that it’s a great location for people travelling. Like in Coventry there isn’t really anything left to make the locations worth visiting either. Shame Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
