X TYPE DIESEL - REPLACING high pressure pipe linked to POWER STEERING PUMP-

My garage is struggling to source power steering high-pressure pipe for my 2005 xtype jag. Any suggestions as Jaguar have no date for restocking.

Or take the old one to a Pirtek shop, they will replace the hose and will probably be much cheaper then buying a new one.

The problem is tracking down a replacement for the high pressure pipe: the thread on the original has been stripped….

You will get this Item easily enough from any of the Sources mentioned . Its frankly unbelievable that any Garage would simply lift a phone to a JLR Dealers Spares Department be told something was currently unobtainable and leave matters unresolved and you on Public Transport . Absolute clowns that shouldn't be in Business if thats the level of service they provide .

Apparently suppliers say They’re on backorder with Jag at the moment. No stock & No ETA available.

Any suggestions for alternative sources? Does anyone else make stuff to order?

There are second hand high pressure pipes on eBay but my garage warns me “ there is a nylon washer which is critical to stop leaks, on a second hand one it is doubtful it will be in good condition.”

Can anyone suggest where to get hold of new nylon washers?

Nylon Washers are easily obtained from places such as Screwfix but your question is completely pointless unless you have the size of the washer on the pipe with which to make a comparison .

Here is the washer here and it appears to be listed as an obsolete part which may still be obtainable , why dont you contact them for some advice and information ? I am beginning to feel that I have managed to provide more information than your Garage has , perhaps you should just run the car up to Milton Keynes and leave it with me .
