F Type comfort for big people
Discussion
Looking at an F Type and am a bit worried that at 6ft4 and 18 stone the driving position and compartment as a whole isn't going to be big enough. Coming from a 4 series which had a perfect low position with good space between the bottom of the wheel and my knees am I going to be bitterly disappointed?
Any and all anecdotal advice appreciated. Going to see one next weekend but if its a non starter I'd rather not waste time!

Another 6' 2" here - similar to above the seat is as back / low as possible with no comfort issues. Just wrapped up a 2 week 2,200 mile trip in July with no comfort problems. These are the performance seats FYI.

6ft 5 here. 18ish-st (powerful, not doughy ).
F Type R was on my list; tried it: too small. Legs forced to splay and rest against trans tunnel/door to get wheel low enough. Seat all the way back squeaks against bulkhead then auto brings itself forward to prevent damage.
Lovely car. Comfortable for 99.9% of the population, probably, the bds.
LC500 is roomy.

I am similar and found the seat redesign for 2017 models made a big difference in room for tall people.
have read that they gained 5" extra legroom with the later seats Is there any specific way to tell the difference between a redesign and the original?

Or get the earlier car and just change the seats? Is there any specific way to tell the difference between a redesign and the original?

Not sure if they need different fittings or anything. It's a sound idea I will look at. Due to test drive a 2019 convertible soon for an initial idea
Wasting your time i think chap as no matter what seats are fitted its not abundant with room especially when compared to a 4 Series . I would be looking at at one of those lovely German Coupes if I were you . Another thing you want to consider is both access and egress to an F Type they are pretty low .reddiesel said:

I just moved from a 428i convertible to an F-Type coupe.
I am 5,10 though... so not comparible, but I can certainly say the F-type is (for some reason) slightly easier to get in and out of and I have more headroom in it than my BMW.
