Hello all,

I hope you are well.

Bit of an odd one...

Over a few drinks with my dad over the weekend we started talking about cars that he 'regrets' selling. The one he misses the most was his X350 XJR Portfolio reg. FD07 AMO.

He said if it ever came up for sale he would be seriously interested in buying it back. Now we both know that X350 XJRs aren't that rare (Portfolio's are rarer but do come up occasionally) but he thinks it would be quite fun if we can find FD07AMO as he had it from new. We know who the second owner is but don't know where it's ended up now.

It's currently showing as SORN so may be dead but hopefully it's being lovingly 'restored' maybe by someone on here or a friend of a forum member....

If anyone knows where FD07AMO is any info would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Unless you get incredibly lucky, tracking down a vehicle is exceptionally difficult for a member of the public. My advice is keep checking eBay, AutoTrader et al.

I sold a pretty uninspiring Audi A6 before I moved to Australia a few years back, but it had a cherished plate on that, in hindsight, I wish I had kept - I ended up returning to England and one morning on the way to work I found myself alongside the actual car on a motorway not more than 3 miles from where it used to live (I sold it to a dealer network.)

Ended up parking next to it at a local shopping centre and leaving a note on the car, explaining I'd like to buy the plate back. Never heard from them, can only assume they thought I was a nutter.

Ha brilliant.

Shame they didn't get back to you, I would if someone did the same to me if only to suggest a ridiculous price!

We aren't holding out much hope and aren't too desperate just hoping an 'enthusiast' has it and will go on forums...

If not, c'est la vie.
