I recently came across this XJ C Series 2 going up for Auction soon , I would have to look up my Production Stats but this would be a pretty rare Manual version would it not ? Craig ?

Saw half a dozen or so XJ coupes at Syon Park, no manuals though, a few restored others needing some cash. Only one XJ saloon though... are they now becoming rarer?
As you no doubt know , I think its a question of restoration costs exceeding the cars actual value and many cars simply arent being restored . When asked I always point People looking for an XJ in the direction of the X350 , for working men on a budget or indeed anyone looking for a weekend drive with a Picnic Hamper in the Boot , they are just so easy to own and work on and the Model Range has something for everyone . Earlier Steel Cars by comparison can be a money pit for the unwary .V12 Migaloo said:
I had an XJ350, 2.7D, I loved it, but she did not love me... bushes, struts, compressor, and complete engine failure pushed me towards Audi.... A well sorted or cared for X300 or X308 would, perhaps have been more reliable...
I have had several X350 all Petrol and never an issue . I favour it over the X300 or X308 simply because of the method of construction , its also to my mind a better driving dynamic . I think your list of problems are pretty unusual for the Model arent they ? I wouldn't buy a Diesel Jaguar so its a genuine question Red diesel,
I would expect a petrol version to be much more reliable then the diesel.
When I had the X350 the dealer had to take it back due to almost constant daily restricted performance issues.. (still did 120 though...) they changed EGR's, Cats, Turbos, Looms, injectors and loads of other items. When it came back I treated it to a 120k mile intensive service, then the shells rotated..... she'd only done 60 odd thousand miles...
No different to the petrol models though were the issues with weak bushes, cheap suspension compressors and faulty/leaking airbags/shocks.
Such a shame though as on the Autobahn the suspension and steering was most at home around 125 mph, with everything working beautifully and in complete harmony... it was quiet refined and sporty, everything you expected from Jaguar. She'd even hit late 40's fuel wise and I once obtained nearly 600 miles from one tank on a trip to Milan.
Would I buy a later X351, you bet, but only if its a 575....
Had a X300 4.0 sport and then a X308 3.2 V8, neither gave me any issues what so ever, but yes the X350 in aluminium is head a shoulders above the previous models in almost every respect...
