So on my way home from not buying a motorhome project (thread below if anyone cares)

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I spotted this...

But immediately I spot a drivers door that has been resprayed and needing done again and a bubbly passenger door. Nice miles but aforementioned door issues and 8 previous owners...Did sound lovely though.

Is corrosion really an issue on this era Jag? I know nothing about them

Bootlid can be an issue but I’ve not heard of doors going. Old repair done bad I’d say.

The underside can be a different story with the subframes. But that’s easily sorted.

Rear passenger door looks a bit off as well.

My XFR has similar mileage and has no rust on the body at all.

8 owners sounds a bit odd tbh.

Indeed. I only viewed as I was in the area. Portacabin set up with lots of big engine stuff sitting about. Perfect recipe for bargepole, run away etc.

Yes it is. The sills rot out too. Even on the later aluminium cars corrosion is an issue. Ask anyone who has a F-type what state their subframes are in.
