Daimler Super Eight

Any owners on here with the x350 Super Eight?
I’m looking to buy one as a weekend wafter, there is one for sale but with high miles. They are quite a rare car, wondered if there any owners on here who know of any cars for sale or wish to sell their car?
Cheers
Don't worry about the miles, my mechanically identical XJR has 160,000 behind it and a full history indicating that nothing has required replacement beyond consumables. There are plenty of others still going strong at over 250,000 miles. I’m looking to buy one as a weekend wafter, there is one for sale but with high miles. The Super8’s make very strong money.
Big miles wouldn’t put me off, my 4.2 is on 131k miles. It’s the ancillaries and suspension parts that add up, but no finer way to waft or feel cosseted in.
Personally I’m not a fan of the S/C versions, the whine just seems at odds with such a car. If you go for a lateish Sov’ spec it’ll certainly give you more choice.
Here’s the story of acquiring mine....

Nope, but I just realised the Daimler brand seems to have become extinct. Pity.
You can blame Daimler Benz for that and the weird licensing of the name to set up the Daimler car company in the first place. They haven’t been able to sell their cars as Daimler’s in the US and other territories for a very long time so it was finally stopped using it anywhere in the range before Tata took over A fantastic car , JagWestLondon do some interesting Japanese Imports of these and I have been trying for some time on various Forums to find anyone who has purchased one hoping to hear of their experiences but sadly havent been able to find any . There are a couple of blokes on Jaguar Forum who run and post of their experiences of the Jaguar Super V8 ( Ashanti and Flatcap ) so always worth a read as both Models are virtually identical . My advice is always to buy the best that you can afford , the engines are indeed capable of high mileages and any issues are all well known , a beautiful vehicle to stick a picnic hamper in the back of and enjoy a little piece of England thats fast disappearing .

Great to hear , I remember him some years ago sourcing the Portfolio Side Vents which in comparison to the normal Plastic items are a lovely piece of craftsmanship .Edited to add - he has confirmed it was a real super v8

A man after my own heart. Absolutely. Someone’s got to keep the dream alive. Sahjahd said:

I’ve heard that been said before. The Daimler super eight I’ve seen is £16000 for a 117k car. It looks absolutely beautiful and well cared for. They are so rare it’s hard to be picky as it’s the only one for sale. A quick check on ‘how many left’ show over half are sorned and there are less than 500 in the uk of both swb and lwb models. Brand new they were 80k plus! AJ-T said:

Thats big money thats being asked , my advice is to speak with Danny at JagWestLondon , these cars are not desirable by the bulk of the population and outside enthusiast circles have little model recognition . They can be a hard sale on the forecourt so anyone looking to get rid of such a device wouldn't be offered big money by a Dealer .http://www.jagwestlondon.co.uk/stocklist.php
Purely for your information , I have no connection with this Business and I mention it simply because the stock is good and he does turn up some interesting Models . Minus points for some are that the bulk of the stock are Japanese and not a great saving if any over our Homegrown Variety

Its probably the ultimate colour and the later Cremona alloys suit the X350 surprisingly well .Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
