Crank Position Sensor removal.
Discussion
So I finally made a start on my timing chain and tensioners job on my 98 XJR, after being sidetracked with rebuilding the supercharger and other things.
I spent the morning printing off the relevant pages of the workshop manual, and made a start.
Remove crankshaft position sensor and rotate the engine until I see the flywheel mark, easy enough.. 8mm spanner, remove the bolt, but the sensor is stuck, I get some movement on it, and start to wiggle it free, and it comes! Success!
Except not, the metal part of the sensor is still in the bell housing!
I tried getting a pry bar in behind it to push, and it's just mushroomed the head, so it's not coming out that way, I tried putting a bolt in the hole and prying in in against the steering rack. No joy. Bugger and arse!
Does anyone have any bright ideas, before I have to remove the engine?
