Hello Jaguar massive,

I am talking my friend into one of the above and she’s very excited. It’s a 2005 reg car. Is it Ulez compliant - some sources say is Euro 3 and some Euro 4?

Where does she stand to future proof her purchase?

Thank you!

If you know the VIN then PM it to me and I can look it up on TOPiX, that should tell you. My old 4.2 XKR (2008) was Euro 4.

I believe you need Euro 4 and the reg doc lists what the car is

I think you can enter your reg on the ULEZ web site and it will tell you whether it’s compliant.

Sadly I don’t have the reg as it is listed with a dealer plate on it. I could call them I suppose...

Go on the Transport for London website and enter the reg of that or an identical car.

I'd be surprised if it was suitable for an Ultra Low Emission Zone, I have to admit. Not the ideal place to use something like that either.

Well, ask them for the VIN and send it to '8bit'.

What Simpo said smile

Actually, is a Euro 4 car ULEZ friendly? It's not going to be any newer than that so if not then I guess that answers the question.

Thanks - took some reg details from the google images and it turns out that it is ULEZ compliant. Which means it’s Euro 4, I believe. It would have to be Euro 6 diesel to be compliant.

2005 car is ULEZ compliant if petrol, (Euro 4) but not if Diesel (Euro 5) You have to wait till about 2016 to get a ULEZ compliant XJ !

The amazing thing is that it appears that my Jaguar C Type replica with XK 4.2 engine IS compliant, according to the ULEZ website!!!

ULEZ

If they wanted to control pollution there are far better targets.
