Oil pressure relief value
Discussion
Just a quick post if anyone has any ideas. I have a 3.8 engine out of a series 3 in a kit car.
It has the modified vertical oil filter housing due to frame issues. Last time I started the car it had no oil pressure. After a bit of detective work I zero'd in on the oil pressure relief valve on the bottom of the filter housing.
Took it out to give it a bit of a clean, and ....... I have no idea how it comes apart. Consists of a plunger with a spring behind it in a housing with two very small holes to stop oil causing back pressure, but no obvious way of it coming apart.
