problem developed this week where the touch screen worked only intermittantly.
Looking through forum posts it seemed that the battery was the first item to check so put it on Ctek 5 to fully recondition and whilst this improved the situation ,I now find that the screen works fine whilst the vehicle is running but stationary yet when I start to travel the screen will go blank after a couple of minutes. Sometimes it will reboot whilst travelling for a short period but will eventually blank again.
Has anyone had a similar experience which might point me in the right direction to rectify things,,,,,can't really use the car with confidence while this persists as everything revolves aroung this screen. As an aside, the reversing camera always functions even if the screen has blanked and the audio system is operative.....puzzled.
Thanx
Alan

An update for those interested.

Had the XKR to an independant in S Yorkshire and the screen is active though not illuminated and therefore unworkable, so after some testing and cleaning ,decided replacement would be advised. The new back unit works well, but I now have the old unit in my hands and was wondering if there were any boffins out there who could trace the fault of illumination in order to ensure ongoing life for the screen.....it must be a dry joint or similar IMHO.....but I am not an electronics boffin.
Any help would again be appreciated

Not my expertise but the way to try to get rid of dry joints was to briefly melt each solder joint and add some fresh solder. Nothing to lose by trying!
