Hi,
I'm normally pretty good with things like this, but I can't figure out how to connect an iPhone via the USB connector under the centre arm rest so I can play songs from it. Does anyone know if it is even possible? Car is 2012.

TIA

I'm not sure that the iPhone will agree to look like a USB Memory stick, years ago phones tended to but at least modern Androids don't now and I don't remember having been able to do that even years back with iPods (never had an iPhone). Can you get a connector to bridge between the old fashioned iPhone connector and the more modern sort? If so that would be the way to go. I've got a bluetooth gadget that plugs into the old iPhone socket and connects to my phone OK.
Mine's a 2010 XKR.

Thank you. It's got the old style iPod type connector next to the USB one. Are you saying that if I got a bluetooth gadget and plugged it into the old type slot then connected the phone to it then it would play songs via the cars audio?

Thanks again - you pointed me in the right direction

Just in case anyone else is interested, here's the solution I found

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N9EQ5PW/?coliid=I2F...

Bovee 1000 with RR iPod Integration Cable for Range Rover, Land Rover, Jaguar Wireless Bluetooth Audio interface Car Kit for in car iPod Integration

Not exactly cheap, but a neat solution that also displays tracks etc on the head unit

It's gone up quite a bit since I bought mine in 2017 after reading about them here

But that's the gadget.

I got a call from a friend last night who'd just bought an X150 XKR and wanted to connect his iPhone to the audio system. I sent him the link to the Bovee and he came back a moment later saying "That's a bit steep" I checked and it was being sold at over £300! yikes a bit more poking about showed that generally the Bovee is currently unavailable. A bit more poking about and I found another gadget that looks just like it.

Amazon sell an "Invery" which looks just list the the Bovee, "Airdual Bluetooth Adapter for Land Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar 30 pin iPod iPhone Music Interface" on
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RMHVJ6P/ref=emc_b_5...
It's still more than I paid 3 years or so ago, but not the silly money they were asking last night for the Bovee.

I'll let you know how my friend gets on with it.
