X308 Gear Selector Cable Won't Move
Discussion
Hi,
Does anyone know whether there are any mechanical measures at the gearbox end to prevent the gear change from moving without foot take etc. being applied?
I can see the footbrake causes a little solenoid to 'unlock' the gear lever in the cabin, but even with the cable disconnected it doesn't move. My gut feel is that the cable has moved slightly further than ever before when I took off the lever surround and a corroded bit has got stuck, but I wanted to check there's nothing in the gearbox that would prevent it moving at that end if I disconnected it in the cabin and got a pry bar and some plusgas on the other end.
Thanks.
