Hi all, prepping a very cheap X308 for a banger rally and mechanically speaking, barring a stiff Bowden cable on the gear selector, it's pretty clean. It is, however, fairly rotten.

I jacked it up using a trolley jack on the square jacking point and it basically squashed and turned to flakes.

Where else can I jack to get the front off the ground? I wondered if a scissor jack under the suspension somewhere might work, but that would mean using the supplied jack. I have a 3 ton trolley jack and axle stands, it's just a question of where to put them...

Also, anyone know where exactly the cable goes on the gearbox (from under the car)?

Any ideas? I don't want to kill i prematurely...

Any of the front floor pan box sections near the jacking points are OK to jack a 308 up on.

The square jacking point on the side is actually a square hole for the square Jack to slide into so probably not designed to take the full weight of the car. But now it's squashed maybe you use the jack there
