Picking up my 2006 xk soon that has been in storage for the last 7 months.
Should I be worried about any starting problems?, battery was fine but not been charged while stored.Any other pre-start checks I should do?
Thanks in advance.

Give the battery a good deep charge as soon as you can. A weak battery on an X150 can cause all sorts of warning lights to ping on even though there is no underlying problem.

The tyres will probably have flattened someone on the side they've been sitting on. The first couple of miles might feel a little odd especially in a convertible.

Thanks for your comments,
Have read so much about what a low battery can throw up, normally when I lay the car up for the winter I connect to a smart charger, but was in France last year and had to fly home unexpectedly &leave the car there.Hope to pick it up the end of the month &looking forward to a good drive home.
Cheers all.

After that length of time (7-8 months ?? ) i'd be amazed if the battery hasn't been flat for several months and will be properly sulphated so won't be able to hold a decent charge.

My XKR gets left out. If I leave it 3 weeks or so I get a battery low warning when I first start it, so I normally plug in a battery conditioner if it's been sat there 2 weeks unused.

Have you a plan for how to get it started if the battery is pancaked? I mean it might be OK, but I would be genuinely impressed if it is after that long.

Oh... and other than that, you'll probably find the tyres a bit 'square' for the first few miles and the discs may have some corrosion, , a decent run down a motorway should have the tyres circular again and a few hundred miles should sort out any disc corrosion! smile
