Hi.

I have a 2010 Portfolio XK. The tech is a bit clunky but for its age that fine because everything else in the car is amazing. I picked one with DAB which when it was new was an extra. I have done a chennel search and can't seem to get that many channels. Cannot pick up any Virgin stations among others. Any ideas?

Had similar in my Audi recently - in my case it turns out the car decoder is only capable of deciding DAB. A lot of stations are now swapping over to the DAB+ codec. Could be similar in your jag?

Take the car to higher ground and try the search again? I've got loads of DAB stations on mine although not sure if Virgin is there specifically as I've never listened to it.

Two types of DAB - who knew.... certainly not me! Will try the high ground thing too but I have plugged an FM transmitter into the glove box power socket. £13 and works a treat with the App on my iphone. I get Spotify now as well which the Jags of that age don't support, only music on dongles and Ipods for those who remember them...

I stream from my phone now too - new module is ~£299 which I don’t want to fork out for just yet

My recently unloaded XFS from 2010 also suffered with disappearing DAB stations.

DAB plus wasn’t an option so it was a hasty retuning to find some different stations and broadening my listening experience.

Recently replaced with a Porsche without DAB at all so an FM transmitter usually tuned into 107.2 works across most counties on my regular runs. Slight background whine but generally not noticeable when the tunes are pumping.

As soon as I lose a station I can rarely be bothered to retune so then I’m at the mercy of local FM stations or the sweet sound of my V8.

Would like to change it out for a new head unit but still can’t swallow the £600+ cost to buy and install...

Hi.

I have just seen this thread and though5 I could make a contribution.

I have just purchased a DAB+ module as I want to retrofit DAB to my XK Portfolio that did not have it as standard.
It is a well documented retrofit on other forums and Cameron from “Old Jag” in Australia is a mine of information on the subject.
I believe Jaguar themselves offered the DAB+ module as an upgrade on the XK and XF models.

Regards Chris.
