Hi all,
Not been on the forum for a good few years,
but would like to pick some brains again if you all don’t mind.
Is it possible to replace the main headlight face( Perspex or whatever it is) One of mine has gone really milky ( which really spoils the look of what is a nice car) I’ been told that it can’t be polished out as it has been effected by chemicals that have actually broken down the material & at £1700 pounds for a new one is a bit out of my reach.
Any advice really appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi,
Most of Xks of that age end up having milky headlights.
I did mine using a kit from 3ms. It’s basically uses sandpaper with less abrasive paper as the process goes on. The process finishes with a rubbing compound.
You will need a sealant afterwards to protect from UV.
I did previously try polishes and compounds with little effect.
I got my kit from Amazon and if you look on the 3ms web site there is a video showing you how.
It’s easy and takes about half an hour each side.
Warning that during the process it looks like it’s getting worse before it gets better.
Our local body shop does this for £40 each
