Specialist auto locksmiths can usually supply fob, emergency key and re-code.Less money than a main agent and they come to you / while you wait rather than booking the car in for the day.

Hundreds of pounds from what I heard a dealer saying recently.

The local key guy couldn't do it.

spoke to 2 auto keys specialist both said haven't got the software to do it

Why do you need a fob? If it’s just falling apart you can get a cover and swap the innards.

If you need a whole key you’ll need to go main dealer and they’ll need to fit a new KVM (keyless vehicle module) in order to programme a new key.

It’s a security feature to try and prevent key cloning
