2012 XFS Alternator

Quite a morning, usual drive to work, suddenly red message pops up Battery Not Charging, OK I think, I'll stop in the layby 200m's ahead...No Chance, 10 Secs later dash light up like a xmas tree and then the car totally dies and locks up. No hazard lights totally dead. Luckily very nice parts van driver stops with his hazards on until police arrive. Car towed, RAC reckons alternator short, now waiting for the bill.......Glad I was only on the major traffic route into town and not on a motorway somewhere.

Had the same issue on my previous xf new alternator fitted but you will find that it will have killed the battery cost me in the region of £1000 for both
