Need to change the spark plugs on my XKR (5.0 supercharged engine) which requires disconnecting the coolant hoses (two each side) going to/from the intercoolers to allow access to remove the coil covers, coils and plugs. The connectors on the hoses look like you should just be able to squeeze the release tabs and then pull or push and pull them free from the intercoolers. For the life of me I can't get them disconnected. Any tips? Any tools to make this easy?

Can’t help, but you’ll need to take the supercharger off too.

To change the spark plugs? Are you joking?

You don’t need to take the supercharger off go do plugs. Trust me.

It’s kind of hard to explain but the way I get those pipes is I push them in as far as I can and grab either side of the release tabs and pull back all as one.

Also the passenger side is a ball ache compared to the drivers side and also the NVH pads are a prick to fit back in properly.

Regards the supercharger, I know that - I was asking why fatboy b said that, can't imagine why... I didn't have to take the supercharger off to do the plugs on my old 4.2.

Thanks for the input on the hoses, if I get a chance at the weekend I might take another go at it. What is it about the passenger side that makes it harder than the driver's side?

From memory they bolts for the coil packs are at the bottom and you can foul on the strut tower trying to get the bolt out.

Also the passenger side has a few extra pipes that get in the way

They've been "done" by the dealer alright in that case...
