K & N Filter for S-Type

I am thinking of fitting and K&N panel filter in my S-Type 3.0 Sport as I have always fitted these in previous cars due to letting the car breathe a bit better.

It is a Late 2001 Model so no warranty remaining but does anyone know of any issues with doing this ie: Will it upset the Air flow meter? Or is the general consensus that this is okay?
