I've just bought a 2008 XF SV8.

I was under the impression that the SV8's all had the Bowers and Wilkins stereo upgrade as standard. However, mine has no badges on the speaker grilles. It's a very good sounding stereo, but I can't figure out whether mine is simply a de-badged B&W, or actually has the standard unit?

Anyone know the answer here?

Mine is the top spec Meridian one and has badges on the speakers, however, if you go onto the infotainment system and go to audio settings it might reveal more there as mind has the Meridian logo and also a Meridian sound setup alternative to Dolby.

B&W should have orange amd white cones.

There should also be a sub in the middle of the dash.

The speakers are B&W but the amp and head unit are Meridian.

It's not a sub in the dash - it is a centre-channel speaker for the Dolby PLII surround sound.

B&W/Meridian systems can be distinguished by the sub-box in the spare wheel well.

Yep, I find the Meridian setting best as it acts like a sound stage so everyone in the car has a similar experience rather than just the driver. It also isolates the vocals far better to the centre dash speaker rather than Dolby which seems to throw the vocals out to all speakers. Purely down to preference though.
