So the first question is why did I not do this years ago. Owned the car for three days now and it’s fantastic.

1994 XJ Gold 3.2 bought unseen off eBay for well under shed money. 90k miles and an MOT until April.

Five hour train journey to collect and a six and a half hour drive home. What could possibly go wrong? Answer: nothing, nothing at all.

It’s smooth, quiet, no nasty knocks or bangs; I’m totally hooked!

94 is a pivotal year for the XJ, so is your wonderful new toy an XJ40 or an X300?
Oh and pictures please so we can all share in your delight. I've got an 94, X300 which is nearly back on the road after it went missing for a couple of years (long story) and I can hardly wait. I've had her since she was less that 18 months old.

I had two XJ40's - brilliant cars. Got rid of the last one with 164k miles on it. I think I needed a new diff at around 120k miles but that was the only major repair.
