Hi all
My late fathers jag wont start, we have taken the battery out to recharge it and when put back in the jag it wont start. When the key is turned in the ignition it makes a continuous beeping sound.
The car is telling me that the steering column is locked and the none of the buttons on the key fob work. Could this be due to the battery being taken out for 2 weeks?
And how could I solve this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I’d complexity replace the battery if it’s old , charged or not.
If not the battery might be the Earth studs, well know for it.

Would you be able to record the sound / dash display and post links here for the sake of clarity?

Are you sure the battery isn't a bit weak. I thought these cars were quite sensitive to batteries and gave out random errors when low?

Would a jump start/assist be possible?
