Hi All,

I recently inherited a double six after my dad died. He was an avid Jag / Daimler fan and had a series of SP250's, E-types back in the day culminating in him buying a used double six which he was still driving in his late 70's.

Its certainly seen better days albeit the interior is in very good condition although the headlining is starting to sag.

He tended to to use it in the summer but in the last 18 months it sat in the driveway open to the elements.

It requires a bit of work on the rear arches, a few stone chips, grubby trim but most of all the area around the sunroof has a more serious rust issue.

I know it hasn't been driven for at least 18 months but all the electrics seem to work and he did mention to me a while ago the cruise control had packed up.

Question is, can anyone recommend a garage/ someone that would be able to sort all this and get the car up and running?

I've asked around locally but in spite of not actually seeing the car, the local garages don't seem to have the interest or expertise. I understand this is probably going to be 4 figures but rather it didn't get to 5.

I am not looking for a concours winning car just for it to be in good clean condition.

Its a 1995 car having covered just over 100k, Kingfisher blue with oatmeal leather.

I know the car isn't worth a huge amount, he loved it and it means a lot to me. To be rolling around in it again, even without him at the helm, would be a nice reminder and a fitting tribute.

Its in Dorset, near Poole and I'd be very grateful for any recommendations in the area.

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry for your loss.
I doff my cap to you Sir!
A fitting tribute indeed, I hope you find someone worthy of the job.
Some pictures and a restoration thread would be really interesting ...

They may be a bit pricey but talk to Knowles/Wilkins Engineering down your way. Even if they are too pricey, they may point you in the direction of someone suitable

It's Bristol but I know they've got a big trailer! Mike Mercer is well thought of in Jaguar/Daimler circles.
