Currently got a Maserati Granturismo S that my other half uses as a daily. Considering swapp8ng for a 2011 XK-RS but have some questions:
1) How “tail happy” is the Jag? I’ve heard it can be very twitchy even at normal speeds in the wet?
2) Reliability wise, how are they?
3) Assuming the rear seats are unusable? The Maserati ones are surprisingly big.

Thanks

I've had mine about 2 months now.

It's had all the tyres swapped to Michelins and the rear diff software upgraded to the same used on the RS-GT. This has calmed the rear down considerably although I still haven't touched the race mode button, or even used sport mode. It's bonkers fast as it is. In the dry now I have full confidence, less so in the wet.

Reliability wise - had no issues at all so far but only 2 months in. Mines only done 24K miles and has extended Jaguar warranty. I plan to extend it again. It's about £1000 per annum.

Rear seat - an 8 year old can get in the back - my 14 year old daughter cannot.

I love the car - French Racing Blue ones are faster biggrin

Thanks for the reply. Interesting what you said about upgrading the rear differential. Who did that for you? Was it Jaguar?

My wife has had hers for 6 months now. It feels better planted at the rear than my XFR-S, although I think the ride quality is only just about acceptable. It is however, and I was quite taken aback by this, unbelievably quick. One of the fastest things I have driven. Miles quicker than my 8C. Considerably quicker than a Gallardo once rolling. Although the engine is supercharged, it really steps up the delivery above 4K and just HAULS. I do think the drivetrain in the XFR-S with the ZF 8 speed feels a step ahead of the 6 speeder in the XKR-S.

That might be an attitude thing.
biggrin My kids used to complain about the room in the back of my X300 but when I mooted buying an XKR they climbed into the back like a shot
"See dad, loads of room"
They'd have been 15 and 13 at the time with the 15 year old being well over 6'.
Having said that, I don't think I've ever had both kids in the car at the same time since I actually bought it.

I would agree - I still have not used sport mode, never mind race mode. It's certainly the fastest car I have ever owned.
