XF V8 Supercharged 2013
Discussion
Hi,
I am new to the forums but have heard good things about the advice given.
Has anyone had any experience of owning a XF V8 Supercharged saloon ?
Are they generally reliable and (relatively) okay price wise to service ?
The car I am looking at is a 1 owner car with a full service history.
My wife thinks it will be a money pit but I am not so sure.
Any opinions ?
Thanks in advance for your time.

5 years ago I took on a used XF 5.0 V8 normally aspirated Portfolio model for 2 1/2 years. It had about 380BHP so no XFR. However, it was obviously cheaper to run, great performance, and most like you'd expect from a Jaguar comfort and ride wise. Rare too, not promoted at all by Jaguar UK as it was the USA market's standard XF model, available here to special order.. No serious issues while I had the car. Could be a good compromise car for you.
I would have kept it for many years but the wife's arthritis meant it was a problem for her getting in and out so I now have a LR DS, shame!

I’ve owned my 2013 XFR for one year now. Like yours it was one owner FSH when I bought it.
It’s by far the most fantastic car I’ve ever owned (aged 64). It’s been trouble free though has just 40000 on the clock at present. It passed a recent MOT with no advisories and a full service 4 weeks ago cost £385 at the main dealer. I got a set of premium tyres fitted on my drive by Kwikfit for £750
If you can live with the average fuel consumption of 21-24 mpg (don’t tell the wife) then I would jump at it.

Can't talk about the XF V8 but I have the same engine in an XKR and it has been utterly reliable for over two years, costs so far limited to wiper blades, rear brake pads , tyres all round and servicing. Road tax is steep though, £550 ish. 17mpg on average however so have a think about your mileage before you buy.
We (the wife in fact) have had a 2013 XFR for about 3 years. Bought as a one owner FJSH car, and properly cared for since. Nothing has gone wrong, now past 76,000 miles.
Fuel consumption is not bad given the performance available and used, the local Jag agent even honours the 3+ service deal, so it's no dearer to run than a Eurobox, except for VED, and rear tyres.

I tried to reply but there was a block on new members posting due to abuse.
It has now been lifted so I would just like to thank everyone for their input.
I took the car for a drive and it was great but have decided not to buy.
It's a shame really but I would either loose my license or my wife said she would divorce me if I didn't slow down on the test drive. (I was tempted to bury the loud peddle but restrained).
Onwards to the next car.
If anyone is looking for a nice XFR I know where one is
Thanks again
Chris
