I've heard good reports about Aldridge. Also there's Martrim in Sandbach, I think they were recommended by someone in the JEC but I could be wrong.

I did my XKR and took the drivers seat out and on your own its a bit difficult with only two hands but the result is worth the effort.

I'm guessing you want a proper job but You can make it a bit better using upholstery pins with corkscrew pin like this .

It's a bodge but can be quite discreet and no-one noticed until I mentioned (unless they were very polite which given my friends seems unlikely).

In my XJ6 I used two pieces of very thin wooden moulding across the width of the cabin wedged in place. It looked OK and would have been better if I had stained the wood a dark walnut.

But I'm a bodger.

Aldridge said they take the windscreen out to get the new one in, and want the car for two weeks. Not got a full quote yet, but won't be cheap.

At least a replacement would kill two birds with one stone as the previous owner was a smoker.
When I did my XKR the finish was far better than I had hoped for and really changed the interior.
There is a youtube clip of someone fitting an XJ headlining. If you get stuck and need an extra pair of hands let me know I am on the Wirral.

A final thought from the bodgemeister - don't try inserting glue between sag and roof. It ends in tears. The pins are a better route.

I would agree that a full replacement is the way to go after trying to pin and stick mine back up - I did my XK8 (two person job) managed to get it out by taking the seats out as was advised that quite often the seals can be affected round the glass on older cars if you take it out the windscreen. Good luck, it will make the world of difference

In same situation. Thanks for the really useful contacts. How did it go with PRS Autos?
