Running around in a temporary E-Pace for a few months and I can't get used to the fact the car auto-arms the alarm if left closed but unlocked for a very short period (something like 40-60s).

This means I'm forever triggering it as I quite often jump out to do something then come back a few minutes later, and I never normally lock my cars in the garage so whenever anyone goes to get in the damn thing we get to enjoy the honking of the alarm, very noisy in a confined space!

A bit of googling suggests this is something that needs to be disabled by a dealer? Is this true? Is there any workaround?

Quite apart from the dingy touchscreen and the general roughness of the thing (it's a lowly P150), this alone would put me off buying a Jaguar.

It’s activated and deactivated on request. Someone must have asked for it. Are you in a dodgy area?

Ha, not at all. Reportedly one of the safest cities in the world.

It is a short-term lease pool car though, maybe the lessor is just paranoid, or it might be a country-specific default.
