Any E Pace owners here? Issues?
Discussion
Any one swayed by the latest JLR offering?
MrsTheWife's XF estate was due to go back after 3 years, Jan 2018, so went to have a look at other offerings, where she spied the 'E Pace First Edition D180' in the showroom. After repeated warnings about brand new models and 'Lets go and have a look at some other brands', she agreed to buy the one off the showroom floor completely ignoring me.
The car was picked up and then I began to find small faults, like the bonnet not on straight, rusty wheel nuts and wheel arch covers not fastened down.
Subsequently the keys fails to unlock the car from less than 12" away, so have been replaced. The 'gesture control' or opening of the tailgate by kicking the area under the boot doesn't work. Service indicator came on after 9k miles, when it needs servicing after 21k or 24 months.
All of these problems have almost been rectified, but took multiple visits to the inept dealers (St***stone). Three attempts to straighten the bonnet (I can't comprehend handing a car back to a customer with the fault still not correct, as if they won't notice!), two attempts to get the keys to work better and still no better than it was.Another for the service light to turn off.
I'll add to this, it's very heavy (steel construction rather than aluminium), small fuel tank which doesn't help with poor MPG.
Finding a Facebook group of other owners has cemented the fact that there seem to be many many issues with this model . . . .
I bought a Giulia Veloce in June 2018 and it's been perfect

I sort of forgot they even made the E Pace until the other day (I knew there was the big SUV and the electric one, but not the middling ICE model). I've not heard much on build quality because I've not heard much about them full stop. ...Useful post, eh?
XF Estate is a nice motor, right? Why the need to get rid?

I guess the E Pace is related in some way to my crappy Disco Sport?
So add DPF failure to the list as that will be on its way unless she's making sure to run it long distances and avoiding short trips.
Think it has lineage to the RR Evoque. Not had any DPF problems ourselves, but heard of lots of others having many many recurrent issuesSo add DPF failure to the list as that will be on its way unless she's making sure to run it long distances and avoiding short trips.

Issue with a DPF and short distances and short trips. Isn't that the case with all diesel-DPF's, not just JLR products though? So add DPF failure to the list as that will be on its way unless she's making sure to run it long distances and avoiding short trips.

Think these problems have been along the lines of 'DPF Full' without the warning to go for a brisk drive first and then numerous parts being on back order, so people without their cars for extended periods.Sorry to hear about your troubles with this car.
I've had an E-Pace D180 S for just over a year and I've done 8.5k miles. I've had no problems whatsoever with it - apart from one day when it insisted cruise control was not available. Both my wife and I love it although acknowledge that whilst it is very good in some areas in others it is compromised - but we'd rather have that than something boring.
Driving the 20 miles to work each day on fairly good A and B roads tends to get me just over 40 mpg.
