XK Sat Nav Unit

Hi all

My brother has an MY06 XK and the centre console unit has stopped working. It is apparently due to the DVD Sat Nav unit in the boot being faulty and needing replacing.

The unit has a part number 6W83 10E887 CF and whilst I cannot find one online for him, there are identical looking units with slightly different part numbers, eg 8W83 instead of 6W83.

Does anyone know if these units are interchangeable or does he need to get an exact match?

I can't advise on compatibility, but Jag Parts & Cars in Holland seem to have your original unit in stock. Website doesn't appear very secure though. May be best to phone or email.

Auto Reserve have what looks like a different unit listed for 2006 XK, but they do call out that the XK had specific programming.
