XJ 350 rear door won’t unlock
Discussion
Hi
Yesterday my beautiful super V8 (350) decided to not open my rear passenger door on the fob. I’ve tried giving it a little bang and using the key but still no joy. All the other doors are fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I spoke to a garage today and they said they’d have to destroy the door card to gain access to the lock. I’d rather avoid that if possible
Thanks for any help.

Hello again,
It seems strange that they say that they would destroy the card in gaining access but I realise if the door can’t be opened, it’s nigh on impossible to release the clips. I’m not familiar with the 350 but Mike K, the JEC coordinator knows his way around them. He might know of a way of energising the lock unit remotely - there's not a fuse for each door perchance?

Hi,
If the Near Side Rear door failed, try to open it by applying 12V to the relevant connector pins going into the REM module as the REM can fail. If it is the O/S/R, it is not the REM as its connected to the N/S/F door and both will have failed f it is the REM. Suggest you do a hard reset first by disconnecting the + and - battery cables and connect them (short-circuit) after waiting 20 minutes (and then reconnect to battery.)
I was told my Super V8 needed two door skins removed when it did not.
