Anyone here with a 5.0 SVR engine? Any hesitation or lag?

This may have more to do with the gearbox I don't know but...

I am very sensitive to hesitation of the line in automatic cars. In my Audi TT it got me into loads of trouble and I hated the tiny hesitation from stop. Got me into loads of trouble and I had to get rid of it. Still there despite resetting the gearbox. I currently own a glorious Audi S5 which just jumps off the line with zero hesitation. Much much safer for getting out of junctions etc. Need a SUV now though and am considering getting a Jaguar FPace SVR and annoyingly I can't test drive one as they're not around yet.

I almost bought a X5M but the damned hesitation issue ruined it for me. The DCT in an M3 I tried didn't have this problem but the X5M is awful.

So can anyone with a F-type SVR or Land Rover SVR (presumably same engines as will be in the Jaguar FPace) say if there is any of the hesitation issue moving from a dead stop? Some people aren't sensitive to it and it doesn't bother them, but it's basically where you press gas and want to move but there's a very irritating tiny hesitation before the engine wakes up and decides to move.

There shouldn't be one as it's a torque converter auto...

Why can't you lift off the brakes a fraction earlier in DCT cars to accommodate it lifting the clutch for you?

If you're concerned about microseconds of delay for pulling out of traffic, you shouldn't be pulling out in those gaps.

The ZF8HP fitted to Jags, BMW's, Alfas and a lot of 8sp cars has little lag, and responds well. I had an M135i, and the Gearbox never felt sluggish or slow to respond.

ZF8 is lovely - and coupled with launch control you can shoot off without any hesitation. CVT on Audi’s however are dreadful

The engine and gearbox are the 2 things that have stuck in my mind during it;s brief ownership. the rest of the car fked, but the gearbox and engine was lovely. That gearbox is, without doubt, the best gearbox I've used, manuals included. It knew what gear to be in, how many to drop based on throttle input. Cold push it lightly, it would drop 1, little harder 2, mat it, drops 4, and absolutely sodded off up the road.

Thanks so far guys.

For further info into the mix... I suspect part of the problem with TT was the turbo lag which didn't help. X5M has twin turbos. My S5 has a supercharger so no issues there.

Plus I have heard on the X5M review that the lag hesitation is due to the automatic electric brake going on when you stop.
