Hi all, I've been a regular reader for a couple of years now but this is my first post.

For the last couple of years of I've been driving a TVR Chimaera 5.0 but have recently changed to a 2001 XKR Covertable. What a great car! Not quite the outright performance of the TVR but more sensible for the 25,000 miles I do each year.

I bought the car privately and it is in need of some TLC. It has had a fair number of aftermarket upgrades including switchable steering, swithclogic gearchange, uprated and lowered suspension and 21" BBS alloys.

I have decided to sort out the alloys first as they will make the biggest difference to the overall look of the car. Can anyone recommend a good company for alloy wheel refurbishment? I have spoken to Wicked Wheels and they have quoted £200 + VAT per wheel and I'm going to need all 4 sorted.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What is the trouble. Are the chrome outer strips damaged? If so then WW are the best people. As I had mine done the trade price is £150inc. each. So shoot for all 4 for £600. It is quite along job. If you need the alloy repaired as well then £200 is about right.

Either that or buy a new set. Look on ebay you can get a complete brand new set or Montreals/ Detrits. Sepangs etc for £2k with brand new tyres.

Thanks Triple7.

The Wheels themselves don't appear to be damaged just the finishing strip of tin.

I had four Monaco 18" Split rims done on my S-Type Sport by Wicked Wheels a couple of weeks ago and paid around that figure although two of them were badly corroded and damaged.

It seems like a lot of money but the results were worth it. They did an excellent job they are like new..

I also used to have a Chim 500 but have a baby now so got an S-Type Sport and have been very impressed with the power, ride and comfort plus vomit and pee wipes easily off the leather!..
