Anyone had any dealings with the above? Are they funny buggers or what?
I made a couple of inquiries the last couple of days, as I want to buy a timing chain upgrade kit from them.
Jeeezuss! Hard work, or what! banghead

For a X308? Try Jaguar Spares North East.

Weirdly the price of metal bodied secondary tensioners as well as complete kits seems to vary depending on the wind direction

Yep British parts are hard to deal with. I ordered a TPMS sensor earlier this year to suit my Jag. Got it fitted and it didn’t work. Phoned them and they then said that all TPMS sensors needed to be programmed confused

I called Jag, and that would be £150. I looked back at BP website, and it did indeed say it ‘may’ need programming in the small print. I called to query why they were selling sensors specific to a car that then needed programming. We got into an arguement, so I reported them to the ASA who agreed with me that their website was misleading.

But then 3 starts and 30 miles later, the sensor paired itself so all was good. So man from BP was wrong and I was right after all.

Well I got there in the end. But I got some very short and terse replies.
Finally, before I gave up and went elsewhere, I was "Look, let's start again, I want to buy some parts off you, and I need some information" I only wanted to make sure I was ordering the correct parts ffs.
So I just placed an order for 600 quid's worth of parts, so let's hope they come through. Maybe they'll be a bit more fking polite in the future, though I doubt it.
I recently bought some stuff from a crowd in France, warp speed delivery to here in Mallorca. Very impressed with them. But their timing chain upgrade kit was a bit rich, otherwise I'd have been straight back to them.

Thank you for the recommendation Steve, I had a look at Jag NE, but the crowd at British Parts seemed to have a better price. As you say, there seems to be quite a price difference between vendors.
Time will tell if I did indeed get a better deal....

Well it's official, they're fking useless!
"I regret it is not possible to use a payment card that is billed in one country for delivery to another address in a different country.

If you would like your order to be send to spain you will need to make a bank transfer payment."

Yes it is possible, I do it all the time.
They've lost s lot of money from me that's for sure. Unbelievable!

I've used Jaguar Classic Parts for all the spares or replacements that I've needed up to now, prices seem to be comparable for other distributors and you're buying OEM parts.

I was on three the other day as I need a bonding lead for the bonnet to body but it is NLA, the next supplier I can find with stock is in Germany and want twice the price of Jaguar!

Well I've told them to cancel the order.
First off, I wanted the cam chain upgrade kit, but it didn't appear to contain the longer bolts needed for the newer tensioners, so I fired off an e-mail, and I was told no, it doesn't include bolts. No other info.
So I fired another e-mail off, as there is only one bolt listed, and there wasn't any information about what it was for. I asked for the part number and the number of bolts I needed.
I got a reply "Sorry we can't give you the part numbers" :/
So I replied, basically saying look, I need to know I'm ordering the correct bolts. By this time I'm getting a bit pissed off.
I got a reply, with a link to the bolt. Finally!
So I ordered the kit, bolts, belts, pulley and tensioner upgrade kit, thermostat, and other stuff, nearly 600 quid with the postage.
Now they won't accept my card because it's a UK bank account, and I want the stuff sending to my address in Spain! fk them, I can't be arsed to deal with them.
They're not the only ones selling the stuff. In fact I just picked up a set of Gates belts, and a thermostat from my local Motor factors this evening.
The Cam chain and tensioners upgrade kit I'll order from the people who I used in France, it's a bit more expensive, but it includes the bolts, and cover gaskets, and front seal. My last order with them turned up in a couple of days. Actually the postage will probably be cheaper.

Yes it's very good, there's the Spanish one too. I ended up buying my top mounts from the Jaguar dealer in Palma, I look the parts up on there, print off the parts diagram, and take it down to them, it's the same price, and I collect it without having to pay postage. The Guys are really helpful, and they usually have the parts withing a couple of days. They call me when they're ready.

That's not that uncommon for a first order. It's how they can be sure that the cardholder is the one placing the order. Sending to an address different to that of the card-holder opens them up to being liable in the event of a fraudulent order. I've used quite a few places that are happy to send to wherever, as long as the first order is sent to the card-holder address

Well, that's what the security code is for. It can't be that common, because I've bought hundreds of parts for my bikes, and cars, from all over.
And Inter-flora would soon be out of business! smile
Besides, the Guy was so unhelpful in the first instance. They obviously aren't short of customers.
I prefer to deal with someone who is courteous, and actually wants to sell me stuff.
If it was my business, the Guy I was unfortunate to contact would be out of the door.
Anyway, rant over. Thanks for listening....

Sounds like the same bloke I spoke to. Totally un-customer focused and thinks he knows it all.
