Was out test driving XJ, L405 RR yesterday (the latter very dissapointing) stuff yesterday for upcoming purchase..

But both me and the wife were taken a back by just how good the f-type looked inside and outside and how comfy it was to sit in, so its got me looking into things, wiki included, which bought up this image which i cant find any models that look that good, is this an aftermarket bodykit?

Also, cooled seats are an absolute must for us, see theyre an option on latest f-type but were they offered on earlier models?

Looks like the factory fitted sports design pack, gives you the side sills, and different bumper, splitter and rear.
Makes the car look much better in my opinion, beefs it out a bit and looks more aggressive.

I might be wrong on this but I don't think the cooled seats were available until 2018.
I have the V8R but I believe that's a V6S with a painted rear diffuser and sill spoilers.

Tah, looking at cars for sale i cant see one with this option so maybe a later option added? I dont really want to fork out 50k on a later car tbh, I guess you could add a kit but that feels a bit naff to me.

frown like above, dont want to spend out on a later car really as expectations would be too high smile diffcult to see from pics if its just a painted difuser, it looks like a totaly different rear valance but could be wrong, the S we saw at deaers didnt have this kit but still thought it looked epic so not a major issue, cooled seats are though..

You can get the design pack on earlier cars, but you just have to find the right car that had it spec’d from the beginning. It took me about 3 months of looking to find a car that had everything I wanted including the design pack.

Did have a look at whether you could buy the kit and having it fitted by jaguar after, but was about £4K all in or so, so not worth it.

Here’s mine smile

That looks stunning! I see from your profile that it's a car I've been admiring on another website although it has a different plate. Again, I'm assuming it's Stratus Grey. I'm contemplating getting one in the future and that is the closest I can find to what I would want in a car.

Seems really weird that the F-Types don't have cooled seats as standard, my 2010 XKR has them and I'd have thought the feature was carried over into the "replacement" model.

Yup that’s me, that photo was from when I first got it before I put a private plate on.

The colour is ‘storm grey’ although they seem to change the paint names regularly, I think to fall in-line with Range Rover colour names.

I would have liked a slightly lighter grey (ammonite grey), as it then has more of a contrast with the black rear valance bit around the exhausts, but as I bought 2nd hand had to make some concessions.

Search on autotrader with the keyword ‘design’ and that should bring up cars with the design pack styling.

You can retrofit easily and inexpensively if u avoid main dealer prices

You can only retro the wider sills if the car has the sports sills (Standard on S)

I think that’s the British Design Edition kit. Friend of mine picked one up in blue about a month ago. 16 plate, 3l supercharged v6, 5k miles £48k. It’s got all the toys - he got it from Beadles in Watford - they had a few with the BDE kit at the time, it certainly makes a difference to the shape.

Ah, ok, didn't know it was Storm Grey. It almost looks like a satin black. Beautiful car.

I've sent you a PM.

Here is the SPORTS DESIGN KIT retro fit to my 2014 R

You can order the parts from Jaguar Dealer, they come primered. Then any bodyshop can paint and fit....the sills should screw into the existing holes for the existing sills, hence why you can only retro fit to a car with sills

Bloody hell these things look good! Its causing me all sorts of choice dilemas biggrin

Not actualy seen one with kit in the flesh yet, we were taken with a normal S, realy loving these pics, got any from further away, less arty?

No cooled seats till 2017 is going to make it difficult though, were they inc. in one of the packges?

Just sold my V6S last month, beautiful car, loved it, but just wasn't getting used.
If you buy one keep it for a long time because the depreciation is shocking.

Yes indeed, although it does make them good second hand value.

This is my V6S with design kit, I think it was a 1.5k option 2.5 years ago. I know the depreciation is steep but we specked it exactly as we wanted and intend to keep it a while.

Not sure what happened there but we didn’t want it upside down. 😄

note this is not the SPORTS design kit, that has the wider sills
