XF 3.0 S 271 remap
Discussion
I just purchased my first Jag (XF S 2009, 6 speed auto), I have remapped every diesel i've had so far and it always makes them better. I hear mapping a XF S is a terrible idea as the gearbox is only rated for it's standard torque output, is this bullsh*t? does anybody have any experience? the remap i assume would take it to 690-720nm torque. Everybody maps the 335d to 700nm with no issue.
Hope someone can advise me on this!

Not all remaps are about massive performance gains.
Smoother pickup low down, better spread of torque across the power band, does not necessarily mean huge numbers but does make the car faster day to day and easier to drive (especially at low speeds). Better economy too. I'm seeing an easy 40mph at around 70mph cruise, more if i try hard.
Good place near Chichester that can do work. Requires ECU to be taken out, flashed and reassembled so takes about 2.5/3 hours. Circa £300 for work.
Can anyone recommend a remap company near Glasgow for my non-S XF please? Been looking around but can seem to find anyone.
Had my '60 plate for about 18 months now and although the standard 240bhp has been fine I can't help but feel there's more to be had from the engine. Not just in terms of all out power but response and efficiency as well. If anyone could share their experience of mapping the non-S version of the 3.0d it would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Just get the normal XF 3.0 mapped, it has the same box as the S and can handle a map perfectly fine. Should be around 290-300bhp post map & more efficient by about 4mpg

Err, see my post above. Work was done to 3.0d not the S model.
