What do you guys think - with the upcoming new XK - will the last model become a collectable classic ?

maybe in about 15 years, xjs's are only classed as classics if made before 1990

It wouldn't surprise me, actually for me it already is, and I hope to enjoy it for a long time to come. No idea about how the monetary value will develop, as almost 100.000 cars have been build, but for me the value is purely emotionally.

I think it already is, my car is no longer what you would call a modern car, with all BMW's 'flame' design and Mercs foray with the gorge CLS.

So yes I think it looks beautiful, hence I bought a limited Edition to make it more speacial.

Don't think so, as desirable as the car is...

What you have to remember, is when the original Mk.1 XKE Jaguar "E" type came out in 1961, offering 145mph performance (Motor tested one at 150mph) the average top speed of a British car was around 75/80mph, so it definitely broke new ground, also the price was unbeatable at around £2000..........
