F-Type faults to watch out for?
Discussion
Rusting sub frames is an easy one to check for.
Haven't looked at mine but I mentioned it to my dealer when I had a service done and there was no report of excessive rusting (I really ought to have a look myself though!)
Window seal - I assume you mean the scratches on the glass?
Again, easy to check and a dealer should replace them if excessive (my car is 4 years old and hardly a scratch on the windows)
The rear quarter windows sometimes let wind noise through, but an easy adjustment of one screw from inside (again, no issue on mine)
Headlights - not heard of that problem.
Supercharger - again, not something I've heard is an issue.
My rear camera was a bit hit and miss, but a few software updates (foc) cured it.
Buy from a main dealer and you'll get a full 2 year warranty from the date you buy it, or buy privately a car that still has warranty on it.

I have the same year F type as yours. Late 2014 with under 19,000 miles. Haven't looked at mine but I mentioned it to my dealer when I had a service done and there was no report of excessive rusting (I really ought to have a look myself though!)

Popped it on a ramp the other day just for cleaning proposes. No rust on the sub frame and if you could find some its only surface rust which is normal.
Supercharger - no problems.
No problems with glass or headlamps, all good.
My son also has an F type. It has a few more miles than mine: 69,000. He bought his from a main dealer and it came with 2 years full Jag warranty. The RH and LH door glass was scratched. Jag replaced them under the warranty. Plus a engine light came on. Jag sent someone out to his home address to see if they could fix it there. They couldn't. It was taken into Jag to diagnose the fault and repair. Jag hired my son had a free car for the duration (one day).
He just sold it privately but it still had over 16 months of the warranty left on.
So. If you can get one with a warranty, its worth it in my opinion.
